ROLE OVERVIEW
-Provide medical oversight to the residential program both at the point of admissions and to clients onsite.
-Provide nursing care as appropriate to the facility and clients' needs, identify, establish, and manage medical risks and client care plans, develop, and implement governing polices oversee staff to ensure a high delivery of clinical care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Comply with operational systems to ensure a high standard of clinical governance relating to medical areas, i.e. medication, health treatment plans, risk escalation.
-Support the client admission process through reviewing assessment documentation and elevating concerns.
-Support client orientation by completing arrival medical screening, testing (drug and alcohol test), charting medication, completing bag check, and elevating any medical concerns to the Clinical Director.
-Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director in the development and implementation of organisational policies, procedures, and workflows in the areas on medical governance.
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date notes in alignment with organisational polices.
-Identify and report risks prior to escalation.
-Crisis management and client support.
-Provide on call support where required
-Support clinical director and communicate with intake team to support client admissions.
- Assist Clinical Director in Clinical Intake Assessments and decision making.
-Providing support to DVA clients and generating justification for admission letters to DVA where applicable.

SKILLS
-Previous experience in MH or AOD Nursing or similar.
-Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
-The ability to build and develop rapport quickly.
-The ability to identify risk and action appropriate interventions.
-The ability to work with clients from different backgrounds and to help a client feel comfortable, safe and secure.
-The ability to separate work from personal issues.
-The ability to maintain an objective viewpoint and be impartial when caring for client concerns/issues.
-Strong organisational/planning skills in preparation for possible issues in advance and awareness of clients’ requirements at all times by constantly monitoring progress in consultation with all department staff and General Manager.
-The ability to prioritise tasks and your time with excellent time management skills.
-Confidence in addressing and facilitating group activities - management and supervision experience.
-Computer and telephone skills (email, Microsoft Word document, navigation of computer drives).

-Current AHPRA registration
-CPR
-Current Driver License
