In the role
Managing Counsel, Review Team
,
you will join the
People & Culture Team
that's doubling down on making a tangible difference to customers while keeping it simple.

Each day, you'll go above and beyond to:

* Lead a team which reviews material risk and conduct events at NAB for the purposes of fostering a learning culture and continuous improvement together with assessing those events for individual accountability.
* Provide strategic leadership and oversight of NAB's independent Review Team, ensuring the effective delivery of Fact Finds, Learning Reviews, and Consequences Investigations into material risk and conduct events in accordance with established guidelines.
* Champion a culture of integrity, fairness, and objectivity by embedding procedural fairness and maintaining legal professional privilege throughout all review activities.
* Set the direction and standards for how reviews are scoped, executed, and reported, ensuring alignment with NAB's accountability framework and regulatory obligations, including CPS 511 Remuneration and the Financial Accountability Regime.
* Lead strategic initiatives to drive process improvements in Conduct & Accountability.
* Report to the Executive Committees and Board.
* Proactively manage risk, including suitably documented and assessed controls, obligations and processes.
* Liaise and build healthy working relationships with key stakeholders.
* Develop and maintain technology solutions for the Review Team, including system design and uplift.

We're looking for the brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You'll need:

* To be entitled to hold a valid, current practising certificate as an Australian Legal Practitioner under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (minimum 10 years PQE).
* Have a proven track record in leading complex, high-stakes workplace investigations or reviews involving material risk, conduct, or regulatory matters.
* Have experience (10+ years) in senior roles in risk, compliance, legal, Group Investigations, internal audit, or regulatory affairs, preferably within the financial services sector.
* Have a strong background in consequence management, accountability frameworks, and enterprise-level risk governance.
* Have excellent drafting skills with a focus on high quality, plain language, grammar, spelling and attention to detail
* Have effective stakeholder engagement skills, presence to give credibility and a collaborative and partnering approach.
* Have strong organisational skills, including prioritisation and time management.
* Have strong presentation skills.
* Have demonstrated strategic execution and formulation in prior roles.
* Be a strong and thoughtful People Leader, focused on well-being and authenticity while maintaining a focus on improving efficiency and achieving results.
* Be able to work at pace while co-ordinating and delivering high quality business outcomes.
* Be resourceful with well-developed problem-solving skills.
* Exhibit professional and ethical behaviour and ensure compliance with external legislation, bank standards and internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position
* Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong influencing and negotiating abilities and be highly self-motivated.
* Be able to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, leveraging document management systems to uphold integrity and security.
* Be willing to attend the office four days a week, if necessary.
