Department Overview
This department is dedicated to children and young people, aiming to ensure that every child and young person in Tasmania is known, safe, well, and learning. The child's well-being is at the center of all activities.
Duties
Implement and manage appropriate learning programs for students and assess individual student progress. This position is at a Support School working with students with multiple disabilities requiring extensive educational adjustments.
Period of Appointment
Ongoing, starting 19 May 2025. Applicants should note that for twelve (12) months from the publication date, this process may be used to fill other full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.
Hours per Fortnight
70 hours
Essential Requirements
* Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
* Qualifications as established by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award, 2005
* Current certificate of registration, provisional registration, or limited authority to teach granted by the Teachers Registration Board (Tasmania) in accordance with the Teachers Registration Act 2000. Note: Limited authority to teach allows employment only on a fixed-term basis.
* Under the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award, classification and progression depend on training, qualifications, and performance. Progression to Band 1 Level 13 requires at least 12 months at Band 1 Level 12 and full teacher registration.
Desirable Requirements
* Four or more years of training as defined in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005.
