About the role Step into a senior finance role where your insights shape strategy and drive growth. Be part of a $100m multi-unit group, work closely with the board, and make a real impact. Duties Lead the finance function for a multi-unit group ($100m turnover), overseeing reporting, analysis, and compliance. Deliver monthly management reports and board-level insights, translating numbers into clear commercial recommendations. Manage banking, insurance, floor plan financing, and other key external relationships. Drive the annual budgeting process and provide accurate forecasting to support strategic decision-making. Oversee cash flow, risk management, and ensure financial controls are in place across all business units. Mentor and manage a small finance team (FM, FA, AP), with dotted-line influence over AR staff. Work hands-on in a flat, family-business style structure while guiding the team to deliver accurate and timely results. Contribute actively to the senior management team, with a seat at the board and input into strategic discussions. Assess new business opportunities, conduct due diligence, and evaluate financial and commercial risks. Enhance reporting and analysis through advanced Excel and financial systems (Auto IT advantageous). Skills and experience CPA or CA qualified, with 10 years’ experience in accounting and finance. Proven track record leading a finance team and working closely with senior management. Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis. Skilled at providing not just numbers, but commercial insights that influence business decisions. Hands-on leadership style, ideally with experience in a flat or family-business environment. Confident in managing external stakeholders, including banks, insurers, and auditors. Experienced in board-level reporting and contributing to strategic discussions. Advanced Excel skills, with exposure to Auto IT or similar systems highly regarded. Ability to assess new business opportunities, evaluate risks, and provide sound recommendations. Automotive industry experience desirable but not essential.
