This is a unique opportunity to shape the organisation’s enterprise risk function in a role that directly contributes to governance, culture, and strategic resilience. As Associate Director, Risk Strategy, you’ll be responsible for delivering enterprise-wide risk frameworks, policies, and appetite statements, working closely with the CEO, Board, and senior executives to embed lasting value and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, embed, and oversee enterprise and operational risk frameworks, standards, and policies
* Lead the design and roll-out of the risk appetite framework and statements
* Conduct risk maturity assessments and drive capability uplift across the business
* Provide second line oversight and challenge to ensure alignment of risk activities with strategy
* Deliver executive and board-level reporting and support ad hoc regulatory / legal requests
Qualifications & Experience
Essential :
* Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, IT or related field
* 8+ years’ risk leadership experience in a mature, highly regulated organisation
* Proven experience developing and embedding enterprise risk frameworks
* Strong knowledge of ISO31000, COBIT, and APRA / ASIC-aligned frameworks
* Executive presence with ability to influence CEO, ExCo, and Boards
Desirable :
* Background in financial services, insurance, or other complex regulated sectors
* Experience with GRC tools and risk reporting systems
* Proven ability to simplify complex theory into practical steps for non-technical leaders

Casual Loading
