This company has multiple manufacturing sites across Australia and has continued to grow and increase market share. Due to increased workload the team is looking to hire a Laboratory Technician with an immediate start.
Reporting to the Chemistry Unit Manager, this role is to provide service and technical support to in all areas of product and material analysis.
Role: Laboratory Technician
Location: Port Melbourne
Job Type:Contract - 4 Months days). Immediate start.
Rate:$42.00 ph + super + OT rates
Responsibilities:
Technical
· Performs physical testing on Milk Powders.
· Performs chemical testing on various food products including raw material and finished products.
Quality
· Perform routine equipment calibration in the laboratory.
· Perform routine equipment maintenance in the laboratory.
· Adhere to all documented laboratory accreditation programs and policies.
Maintain accurate written and/ or electronic records of calibration, test data, quality data, observations, and procedures.
Good Laboratory Practice
· Maintain cleanliness of laboratory in line with GLP.
· Follow set guidelines/ rosters for all levels of laboratory cleaning protocol. working as a technician in a microbiology laboratory.
· Adhere to all company safety, food safety, and product quality policies and procedures.

We are looking for a highly capable and trustworthy professional who can operate with a high degree of autonomy.
* Experience in HPLC: Demonstrated hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), preferably with Shimadzu or Waters systems.
* Wet Chemistry Skills: Proven practical experience and proficiency in a variety of wet chemistry techniques and analysis.
* Education: Lab Tech Certificate IV (minimum) or a Diploma in Lab Tech or a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Science is required.
* Experience: A minimum of 12 months of sound, practical experience applying straightforward lab procedures and systems.
* Compliance Expertise: Proven ability to manage compliance and policy adherence, ensuring procedures meet all reference and accreditation standards.
* Communication: Highly effective verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey technical results and collaborate with diverse teams.
* Analytical Acumen: Strong ability to manage complexity, analyze high-quantity information, and make timely, high-quality decisions.
* Tech Savvy: A quick adopter of new laboratory technologies and digital applications to increase performance and efficiency.
