Registered Nurse - Residential AOD
This is a dynamic and rewarding role for a Registered Nurse to join our team in Bairnsdale. As an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical nursing care, withdrawal management, and health education for residents undergoing treatment for problematic substance use.
The successful candidate will have current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, strong clinical skills in AOD, mental health, and medical care. Experience in residential or withdrawal settings is preferred, as well as an understanding of therapeutic community models and trauma-informed care.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing holistic, evidence-based healthcare in a residential setting
* Managing AOD withdrawal symptoms and related care plans
* Administering medication and liaising with pharmacists and GPs
* Conducting AOD and health assessments, referrals, and education
* Supporting Opioid Assisted Therapy (OAT) stabilisation and harm minimisation
* Supervising and mentoring Enrolled Nurses within their scope of practice
* Providing psychoeducation and evidence-based interventions
* Contributing to care planning, discharge planning, and clinical documentation
* Facilitating health-related group sessions and promoting wellbeing
* Maintaining clinical safety, infection control, stock levels, and medical records
* Participating in quality improvement, audits, and clinical supervision
