Overview
Leidos Australia is seeking a Monitoring Engineer to join a highly skilled team responsible for third‑level application and system support for the Defence environment as part of the Centralised Processing (CP) program. This is a large and complex environment with responsibilities spanning a broad spectrum of technologies. The team operates an on‑call roster to cover 7 am – 7 pm weekdays.
The majority of the team is based in Canberra; we would consider applicants from Melbourne. To be successful in this role you must be an Australian citizen and hold an active NV‑1 AGSVA security clearance.
What You'll Do / Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver reliable infrastructure monitoring and alerting services globally.
- Perform specialist technical and engineering activities aligned with project and company objectives.
- Learn and apply new and existing technologies to enhance service delivery.
- Promote innovation by identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.
- Foster collaboration within the team and participate in the on‑call roster as required.
Your Experience & Skills
- Experience with Microsoft System Centre (SCOM) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware (VRO, vSphere) and Citrix.
- Robust knowledge of operating systems, including Windows Server and Linux/Unix.
- Skills in automation scripting, using tools like Python, PowerShell, or Ansible; familiarity with ServiceNow is a plus.
