We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer who's ready to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade data platforms for some of Australia's most recognizable organizations. You'll work on diverse projects across industries - from building real-time data pipelines to architecting modern cloud data platforms on Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, and Azure.

What You'll Do
* Lead and build: Design, develop, and deliver robust, scalable data pipelines and platforms from the ground up
* Collaborate: Work closely with clients and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions that deliver real value
* Architect: Implement modern ETL/ELT processes using cloud-native and big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake)
* Optimize: Design and refine data models to power analytics, reporting, and advanced use cases like AI/ML
* Ensure quality: Build in data validation, monitoring, and governance to maintain integrity, reliability, and security
* Mentor: Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and guidance to junior engineers
* Innovate: Contribute to architecture decisions, delivery planning, and continuous improvement of our data engineering practice
Who You Are
You're a problem-solver and builder who loves the challenge of complex data ecosystems. You don't just write code - you design systems that scale, perform, and deliver business outcomes.
You bring:
* 5+ years as a Data Engineer with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade data solutions
* Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala, or similar for production-ready pipelines
* Solid data modeling expertise with hands‐on experience in Databricks and/or Snowflake
* Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) - you know how to build in the cloud
* Distributed data & streaming tech (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, or similar frameworks)
* Problem‐solving chops: You can diagnose and resolve complex data and performance issues
* Communication skills: You explain technical concepts to non‐technical stakeholders with ease
* Agile delivery experience with exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices
* Consulting or professional services background
* Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical delivery teams
