We are proud to be working with Fisheries Queensland in their search for a motivated and organised professional to coordinate and deliver training for staff undertaking the Boat Ramp Survey (BRS) program. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the scientific integrity and operational success of one of Queensland’s key fisheries monitoring programs.
Working within the Fishery Monitoring team, you will be responsible for delivering an effective and ongoing training, support, and data-quality program for field staff. You will also manage a cohort of interviewers to ensure surveys are delivered on time and to a high scientific standard.
This role requires flexibility, including some weekend work and occasional overnight travel, to support training delivery and field operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and deliver scientific and safety training for Boat Ramp Survey field staff
* Maintain and update documented scientific protocols for the BRS program
* Manage and support a pool of field staff, including rostering and survey delivery
* Provide troubleshooting support for handheld electronic data collection devices
* Undertake timely checking and validation of monitoring data submitted by interviewers
* Develop communication and engagement materials that maintain staff enthusiasm and raise the profile of the BRS program within Fisheries Queensland and the broader community
About You
You will have strong communication and organisational skills, an eye for data quality, and the ability to work collaboratively with field staff across Queensland. Experience in training delivery, staff coordination, scientific monitoring programs, or field-based data collection will be highly regarded.
