The PR and Admin Assistant works within the Executive Department as part of the public relations team. They work closely with and report to the Senior Public Relations Executive on the planning, development and implementation of public relations activities, campaigns and communications for the Australia Zoo Group (Australia Zoo, Wildlife Warriors and The Crocodile Hunter Lodge).

Duties May Include:
* Assist with the implementation of local and national media opportunities for Australia Zoo and its brands.
* Assist with the concept, development and execution of all media activities, including writing and distributing approved media releases, articles and statements.
* Facilitate being a media contact for Australia Zoo and correctly coordinate all media enquiries.
* Facilitate media famils for industry journalists and maintain appropriate follow up.
* Assist with media release preparation and distribution.
* Support the Senior Public Relations Executive with weekly reporting, including evaluation of publicity values via media monitors and other evaluation channels.
* Prepare briefing documents for media engagements, and assist with media training for internal staff.
* Develop good working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
* Assist with duties for film and television projects.
* Assist with content writing for Australia Zoo’s Crikey Magazine.
* Contributing to social media content and monitoring.
* Assist with photography requests.
* Assist the Chief Marketing Officer on business collaborations that have PR components.
* Facilitate tours with VIPs and key stakeholders.
* Support the broader Executive team with administrative tasks and general enquiries about Australia Zoo.
* Work within the Reception space when operationally needed.
* Assist with record keeping of important documentation.
* Organise and coordinate schedules and calendars.
* Assist with general maintenance and cleaning of the office space.
* Assist with other duties as directed by Senior Management.
* Assist with crowd control and ad-hoc tasks as required.
* Attend events as a representative of the business, and assist with Steve Irwin Galas, as required.
Essential Criteria:
* Full availability, including weekends, public holidays and school holidays
* A high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to engage, negotiate and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and guests to ensure professional ongoing relationships and program development.
