The Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG) is looking for a strategic Natural Capital Program Manager to lead the delivery of programs that strengthen environmental markets, support landholder participation, and secure long-term outcomes for people, country and climate.
This role sits at the forefront of BMRG's work in natural capital, helping quantify and value nature through practical, place-based projects. You'll work with farmers, Traditional Owners, scientists, and investors to co-design initiatives that build biodiversity, support carbon sequestration, and improve land condition, while unlocking access to emerging markets and incentives.
About the Role
As the Natural Capital Program Manager, you will lead the delivery of natural capital projects, with a focus on ecosystem condition assessment, environmental accounting, and enabling landholder participation in nature-based markets.
This includes managing projects, overseeing environmental asset assessments, contributing to the development of natural capital policy and building partnerships that scale investment in conservation and regenerative land management.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering natural capital projects aligned to funding agreements and BMRG's strategic goals
* Leading condition assessments and natural capital reporting across the Burnett Mary region
* Providing extension services to landholders, including site visits and tailored support
* Contributing to co-designed methodologies under frameworks like Accounting for Nature
* Coordinating reporting, budgeting and data governance using BMRG's systems and tools
* Engaging with Traditional Owners, landholders, investors and policy partners to drive collaboration and innovation
* Helping grow BMRG's natural capital capability and visibility at a regional and national level
You'll also play a key role in tracking environmental outcomes, guiding policy development, and supporting internal training and integration of natural capital principles across BMRG programs.

You're a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of environmental markets, ecosystem condition, and landholder engagement. You're confident working across science, community and investment, and can deliver high-quality programs with impact and integrity.
We're looking for someone who brings:
* A strong foundation in natural capital, environmental accounting, or carbon/biodiversity markets
* Practical experience designing and managing multi-disciplinary environmental projects
* Strong skills in ecological monitoring, reporting, GIS, CRM systems, data governance
* Experience engaging with landholders, Traditional Owners and technical experts
* A collaborative approach and confidence facilitating cross-sector partnerships
* Familiarity with frameworks such as Accounting for Nature or similar
* A passion for outcomes-based conservation and a commitment to continuous improvement
Qualifications & Desirable Skills
* Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, ecology, natural resource management, or a related field
* Experience in program design, spatial data tools and CRM systems
* Strong understanding of policy settings for environmental and carbon markets (private/state/federal)
* Proven project delivery experience in government-funded or investor-driven programs
