Position Overview
As a Back End Engineer in our PC & Console division, you will be part of the team building the online experience for our most ambitious new titles. This role is focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining the critical, scalable infrastructure that powers our games—from core systems like user accounts and matchmaking to player data and cloud services.
We are looking for a strong engineer who deeply understands how back‑end systems function within a live gaming environment. You will collaborate across disciplines to integrate third‑party platforms and write the code that connects our players to the worlds we create.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement core back‑end systems like user accounts, player data, and matchmaking.
- Help deploy and maintain scalable back‑end services for our new PC and console titles.
- Work with third‑party platforms to build our game’s online cloud infrastructure and backend functionality.
- Integrate third‑party SDKs and APIs in the game client, servers, build pipeline, and development tools.
- Collaborate closely with designers, artists, and gameplay engineers to create a seamless, integrated online experience.
What You Bring to the Table
- Proven game dev experience working with online functionality and backend infrastructure.
- A practical understanding of how back‑end systems function in a gaming context.
- Experience with at least one server‑side language (e.g., C++, C#, Kotlin, etc.).
- Experience with integrating third‑party platforms for online functionality.
- A solid grasp of cloud services.
- Professional experience from a mobile or LiveOps game environment is extremely transferable and valued.
Bonus Points!
- Programming in Kotlin (or strong Java).
- Direct experience with the Pragma back‑end platform.
