Alice Springs Golf Club is an 18-hole championship desert course in the Northern Territory, Australia, featuring scenic views of the MacDonnell Ranges, grassed fairways, and a fully licensed clubhouse with a restaurant. It is recognized as one of the world's top desert courses, offering challenging, narrow fairways. The fully-equipped club provides a restaurant and bars, a well-stocked pro-shop, and a floodlit driving range, putting green, bowling green and a fenced children's playground.
We are seeking skilled and creative chef to join and manage kitchen operations, develop menus, ensure food quality, and lead kitchen staff to provide exceptional dining experiences to the customers. The role includes but is not limited to: assist in planning and designing menus, determining food quantities and costs.
Responsibilities
* Assist in planning and designing menus, determining food quantities and costs
* Prepares and cooks food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
* Calculating/estimating food, labour costs, and liaising with suppliers
* Orders and maintains inventory of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring it meets daily production needs
* Directing kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff, including roster preparation
* Oversee food preparation ensuring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
* Preparing and cooking food
* Ensure compliance with hygiene and health and safety regulations at all times
* Delegate tasks and resolve issues as they arise
* Manage and train Cooks and Kitchenhands in food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety
* Liaise with the general manager to ensure operations run smoothly
* Collaborate with management to develop new dishes and improve existing recipes
* Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient food service
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a lead role in a high-volume restaurant or bar setting
* Expertise in various cooking methods, kitchen safety, and food safety regulations
* Strong culinary and strong problem-solving skills whilst working independently
* Experience in preparation, planning, cost control, inventory management and ordering supplies
* Leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff
* Strong leadership, and ability to work under pressure
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Excellent reporting skills
* Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices
Compensation
Salary: Between $75,000 and $80,000 per annum + Super
