Lead of Outdoor Program– OSHC
Edmondson Park Public School
About Whoosh Care
Whoosh Care is a boutique before and after school care provider established in 2015. We deliver high-quality OSHC programs grounded in children's voice, strong educator practice, and genuine partnerships with school communities.
We are small and privately owned by design. That is not a limitation, it is our advantage. It allows us to maintain high standards, staff properly, support our leaders closely, and prioritise quality practice over scale.
If you are an experienced OSHC leader who is tired of being under-resourced, under-supported, or expected to "just make it work", this role is for you.
About the Role
You will lead our afternoon outdoor program, creating a fun, inclusive, and well-structured environment where children are actively engaged. You will take ownership, with the support of the team, of games, sports, and group activities that promote teamwork, confidence, and enjoyment.
This role suits someone who naturally takes charge, reads group energy well, and knows how to balance structure with fun.
The position includes five afternoons per week, with program time. Term time or school holidays included. You will have the time, staffing, and support to lead properly, not just survive the day.
What You Will Do
* Lead daily outdoor programs for primary-aged children
* Design and run active games, sports, and group challenges
* Create a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels welcome
* Actively engage with children rather than supervising from a distance
* Support behaviour guidance using clear expectations and consistency
* Work collaboratively with the wider Whoosh team
What We Offer
* Above-award wages
* A stable, experienced team of permanent educators
* Real staffing support so ratios and routines are sustainable
* Strong leadership backing and access to decision-makers
* Ongoing professional development and leadership growth
* Direct support from an experienced Educational Leader
* A provider that genuinely prioritises Child Safe Standards and inclusive practice
This is a role where you are supported to be a leader, not a firefighter.
What You Bring
* NSW Working With Children Check
* First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification preferred
* Proven experience in OSHC or similar field
* Strong leadership presence and confidence managing groups
* High energy, initiative, and a genuine love of active play
* Ability to plan and adapt activities to different age groups and abilities
How to Apply
To be considered, please include a cover letter outlining your experience, your interest in the role, and your available start date.
If you are ready to lead in an environment that values quality, supports its leaders, and takes school-aged care seriously, we would like to hear from you.
