Join SSI as an event Producer | Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre (BEMAC) Location: Kangaroo Point Employment Type: Casual About the Program Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre (BEMAC) is dedicated to presenting, producing and developing culturally and linguistically diverse artists and art-forms within QLD. BEMAC delivers an annual program that includes activities funded by Arts Queensland, Australia Council for the Arts and Multicultural Arts Queensland, which are delivered in partnership with artists and communities. BEMAC is a subsidiary of Settlement Services International (SSI), through its Arts and Culture function. SSI Arts and Culture embraces the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions which ensures that artists, cultural practitioners and citizens worldwide have the right to cultural practice and preservation. The purpose of SSI Arts and Culture is: (1) to promote and facilitate meaningful participation in and enjoyment of arts and cultural activities by all members of the community; (2) to nurture and promote artists and cultural practitioners from refugee and migrant backgrounds to continue their creative practice and professional development in Australia. About the Role The BEMAC Producer will be responsible for managing and delivering programming and operations for BEMAC’s suite of workshops, events (live and digital) and co-presentations, across Southeast Queensland. About You We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record in arts and culture event management and production, including experience working with artists, cultural practitioners, and CALD communities. The ideal applicant will have excellent project management and producing skills, strong negotiation and communication abilities, and demonstrated experience building and maintaining effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders across government, local councils, the private sector, the arts industry, and community organisations. Sound knowledge of arts and cultural programming, audience engagement practices, and established networks within the local arts community are essential. Tertiary qualification in arts and cultural management or a related field Experience working in the community and/or settlement sector is DESIRABLE.
