Monash University is seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our Strategic Procurement team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a seasoned procurement professional to shape and deliver strategic category management initiatives that align with the university's objectives.
The Category Manager will be responsible for leading the development and execution of category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes. The successful candidate will have advanced qualifications and extensive experience in commercial and procurement category management within large, complex organisations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing and executing category strategies that align with the university's academic, research and operational objectives;
* Building a strong procurement pipeline and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-impact initiatives;
* Providing commercial and procurement leadership and innovation, as well as overseeing significant supplier categories and high-value contracts;
* Driving cross-portfolio initiatives, including sustainability, supplier diversity, risk mitigation and digital enablement;
* Optimising the supply base through strategic sourcing levers, monitoring performance metrics, and reporting benefits at both category and supplier levels.
