People & HR Coordinator

The People & HR Coordinator is a core part of Spinifex Brewing Co's people operations, supporting recruitment, onboarding, payroll, compliance, and employee experience. You'll work closely with our Venue Management Team and Exec to keep our systems tight, our processes compliant, and our culture strong across our award-winning Cable Beach venue and HQ.
What you'll do
Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and onboarding.
Manage Deputy onboarding, right-to-work checks, visas, and compliance documentation.
Lead ongoing review and optimisation of Deputy to strengthen workflows, compliance and system performance.
Support payroll processing in Xero and maintain accurate records.
Interpret Awards (HIGA, Food & Bev Manufacturing, Clerks, Sales, Retail).
Maintain training records, apprenticeships, and certification tracking.
Manage leave requests and accruals.
Prepare Contracts and employee communications.
Support employee relations, investigations, and policy updates.
Produce reports and documents for the executive team.
Oversee offboarding, exit interviews, and contract variations.

What you'll bring
Qualification in HR - preferably Certificate IV HR Management as a minimum.
HR generalist experience in a busy, multi-site environment.
Strong understanding of Fair Work, NES, and award interpretation.
Experience with Deputy and Xero (essential), and Microsoft 365.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
Clear communication, professionalism, and a people-first mindset.
Initiative — you solve problems, not create them.
Tech-savvy and comfortable using automation and AI to improve efficiency.
