Interaction & Interface Designer – UX/UI | SAFe Agile | GovTech | Baseline Clearance
Location: Any major city in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Darwin)
Security Requirement: Australian Citizen with Baseline Security Clearance
We are seeking a highly skilled Interaction & Interface Designer to join a large-scale digital transformation program within the public sector. Operating in a SAFe Agile environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design engaging, accessible, and consistent user interfaces across government services.
Your work will shape user journeys and define scalable, reusable design components in alignment with the CER Design System. You will also contribute to Communities of Practice and ART events, playing a key role in the success of each Program Increment (PI) and the consistent delivery of valuable user-centric services.
Key Responsibilities
* Create wireframes, prototypes, and interaction flows to effectively communicate design ideas
* Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, and Service Designers to align designs with product vision and user needs
* Facilitate co-design workshops and stakeholder engagements to ideate and refine design approaches
* Embed interaction design elements into agile delivery workflows and ensure quality of implementation
* Apply data and user feedback to iteratively enhance interface design and usability
* Contribute to and maintain the CER Design System and component library, promoting design consistency and efficiency
* Participate in Design Reference Group meetings and uphold QA of design deliverables
* Work across Agile Release Trains (ARTs), contributing to PI Planning and sharing knowledge across teams
Essential Experience
* 3+ years' experience in an Interaction Design or UI/UX role, ideally in a digital government or large-scale enterprise context
* Demonstrated success delivering design artefacts in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment
* Solid understanding of human-centred design, accessibility standards, and UI best practices
* Strong skills in tools such as Figma, Miro, and related prototyping platforms
* Ability to translate user research, service design inputs, and technical constraints into intuitive user interfaces
* Excellent communication skills to work across multidisciplinary teams and with non-technical stakeholders
* Exposure to or contribution toward a Design System
* Experience with component-based design and front-end collaboration
* Professional certification or tertiary qualification in UX/UI Design, Digital Design, HCI, or related field
* Australian Citizenship required
* Baseline Security Clearance
