Duration: 10 months (subjects to extension)

An HSE Advisor (Health, Safety, & Environment Advisor) ensures compliance, manages risks, and promotes safety culture in engineering projects, focusing on preventing incidents through site inspections, training, audits, and ensuring adherence to regulations like Australian Standards, often holding safety certifications and working closely with site teams in construction, mining, or industrial settings.


Key Responsibilities & Duties

* Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement control measures on project sites.
* Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards (e.g., Australian Standards).
* Site Presence: Be a visible, hands‑on presence on construction or industrial sites, performing daily inspections and audits.
* Training & Culture: Lead safety initiatives, deliver training, and foster a strong, proactive safety culture.
* Incident Management: Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Work with site teams, management, subcontractors, and clients on all HSSE matters.


Typical Qualifications & Skills

* Relevant safety qualification (e.g., Certificate IV in WHS) or engineering/science degree.
* Experience in construction, mining, oil & gas, or heavy industry.
* Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and a "Safety First" mindset.
