St Hilda's School seeks to appoint an experienced Accounts Officer. Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer, the successful applicant's primary role is ensuring the efficient operation of the accounts receivable function and delivering outstanding service to parents and carers. The role also includes some accounts payable and general accounts/bookkeeping duties. This position is a full-time permanent position.
Responsibilities
* Preparing and managing family fee accounts, including tuition, discounts and other charges
* Communicating with parents to manage accounts and payment arrangements confidentially and sensitively
* Receipting all incoming funds
* Bank reconciliations (multiple accounts)
* Petty cash maintenance and processing of staff re-imbursements
* Organising cash floats for events throughout the school
* Accounts Payable for one of our smaller entities, as well as providing support for Accounts Payable tasks when the Accounts Officer is unavailable
* Maintain and reconcile clearing accounts
* Monthly journal entries
Qualifications
* Relevant accounts experience, preferably in education
* A positive understanding of billing and debtor management processes is essential for this position
* Effective communicator with experience in handling sensitive issues
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* A sound understanding of accounting procedures
* Microsoft Office and Excel skills
* Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
* Previous experience using TASS in a school or college setting is highly regarded.
