* Temporary role up to June 2027 – Full-time at 35 hours per week plus FlexTime
* Located in Parramatta or regional office location by negotiation with hybrid working supported
* Salary relative to experience and ranges from $149,739 to $173,174 superannuation
Opportunity to join the Natural Resource Access Regulator (NRAR) that enforces NSW water laws and offers guidance and education to help water users comply. NRAR provides a chance to ensure water is used lawfully so that all communities and the environment receive a fair share.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team responsible for developing evidence-based regulatory and other policy proposals to address issues affecting NRAR's ability to be an effective, efficient, transparent and accountable regulator.
* Engage with the Water Group at the Department of Climate Change Energy, the Environment and Water on new policy and legislative proposals to advocate for NRAR's strategic interests, particularly the enforceability of any proposed legislative reforms.
* Ensure seamless integration of strategic regulatory and operational policy through close collaboration with other policy managers and their teams.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience in compliance and regulatory policy and operations.
* Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to advocate for an organization's interests on new policy proposals and initiatives.
* Reputation for providing accurate policy advice and recommendations on a range of complex issues within short time frames.
* Current NSW Driver Licence and ability to travel throughout the state.
