Position Overview
Reporting to the Team Leader Environment and Regulatory Services, you will contribute to the protection and enhancement of public health and the environment by implementing regulatory programs across environmental health, food safety, and onsite wastewater management.
Key Responsibilities
Administer regulatory functions under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act ****, Local Government Act ****, Food Act ****, and Public Health Act ****, including associated regulations.
Conduct inspections and respond to service requests within corporate timeframes, ensuring outcomes are documented and communicated effectively.
Provide expert advice and reporting on environmental health, food safety, public health, and OSSM matters, particularly in relation to development applications.
Support data collection and contribute to environmental health reporting requirements.

To be successful in this position you will demonstrate:
Tertiary level qualifications in Environmental Health, Environmental Science or a related discipline
Knowledge, understanding and experience in all Environment and Environmental Health functions including the competent delivery of applications, inspections, investigation and enforcement
Proven mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and ability to liaise effectively and professionally with external bodies
Ability to work autonomously to meet given targets and to work well and proactively within a team environment
Flexibility to work outside of, and in addition to, normal hours of work
Ability to provide efficient and effective customer service
Sound expertise in Microsoft Office applications
High degree of verbal and written communication skills
In addition, an ideal candidate would have experience in Onsite Sewage Management Systems, NSW Food Authority's Authorised Officer and Protection of the Environment Operations Act Statement of Attainment.
