Job Description
The Work Health and Safety Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of personnel.
This position is responsible for developing and implementing WHS policies and programs based on risk assessments, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to engage with internal and external stakeholders on complex WHS issues, providing specialist advice and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and Implementing WHS Policies: Develop and implement WHS policies and programs based on risk assessments, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
* Engaging with Stakeholders: Engage with internal and external stakeholders on complex WHS issues, providing specialist advice and guidance.
* Demonstrating Knowledge: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of WHS legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to Defence Australia.
* Providing Expert Advice: Provide expert advice to senior leaders, managers, and other stakeholders on WHS matters.
* Liaising with Authorities: Liaise with authorities and interest groups on specialist WHS matters, ensuring compliance and effective communication.
* Evaluating Activities: Evaluate activities and processes for WHS compliance, identifying areas for improvement.
* Resolving Complex Problems: Resolve complex WHS problems using specialist expertise, taking initiative to identify alternative solutions.
