Description
Canberra Health Services – Pharmacist Level 2/3 Clinical Rotational (Remote) – Temporary with possibility of extension or permanency
Join Our Remote Pharmacy Team at Canberra Hospital
Canberra Hospital is seeking experienced and adaptable AHPRA-registered pharmacists to join our established remote pharmacy team on a
temporary basis for 11 months
(with the possibility of extension or permanency).
These roles offer flexibility for pharmacists based in Australia or overseas, enabling you to contribute to patient care from wherever you are. Applicants must hold full AHPRA General Registration. For those living or planning to live overseas, suitable locations are countries where standard daytime hours align with the evening and overnight period in the ACT. This opportunity provides the ultimate work-life balance for pharmacists seeking flexibility.
The ACT Government has expanded Canberra Hospital with the new 43,000sqm Critical Services Building, increasing emergency, surgical, and critical care capacity for the region.
The department runs a successful AdPha accredited residency program, an excellent intern training program and is accredited for several Registrar Training Residency Programs. We are a progressive, forward-thinking department, having introduced credentialed accuracy checking technician roles, implemented Partnered Pharmacist Medication Charting on the main Canberra Hospital site in Garran and implemented a remote clinical pharmacy service to enhance our on-site services.
What does the role involve?
Role
Remote pharmacists play a critical role in maintaining medication safety and continuity of care when on-site resources are limited and to support the multidisciplinary team working in the after-hours period. Depending on the business needs, your work may include:
* Primarily reviewing and verifying medication orders for supply.
* Providing clinical pharmacy services for patients where suitable information can be obtained remotely.
* Opportunities to participate in the surgical pre-admission clinic to support pre-operative medication reviews (depending on role).
* Responding to medicines information queries from the multidisciplinary team.
To work remotely, applicants
must
have suitable technical capabilities and equipment to fulfill the functions of the role, including consistent and reliable access to secure internet service capable of supporting videoconferencing. They must also comply with the ACT Government home-based work guidelines which can be provided on request. Applicants intending to apply for remote work whilst living overseas must be familiar with any visa restrictions and taxation rules to ensure they would be compliant with any legal requirements in those countries
before
applying. Applicants based in Australia will be required to attend initial onsite training at Canberra Hospital which can be negotiated based on individual circumstances .
