PE, Health & Junior Adolescent Program Teacher (0.4 FTE)

Perth Montessori is seeking a passionate educator to join our community two days per week, working with multi-age class groups from primary and secodary. The focus of this role is skill development, student agency, team building, outdoor education and nurturing leadership in young people.

Perth Montessori is an independent, non-denominational school in Burswood, WA, providing education from early childhood to Year 12. Our Adolescent Program (Years 7–12) combines the Montessori philosophy with the Big Picture Learning Design to create a personalised, project-based, and real-world approach to secondary education.

The Role
This role combines PE teaching across primary and secondary year levels, secondary Health teaching, and a generalist teaching component within our Year 7–9 Junior Adolescent Program, supporting students' community-based work, outdoor education, and social action projects.
On Fridays, you will work as a generalist teacher in our Junior Adolescent Program, supporting students in their community work. This includes our school café, outdoor education, community work (garden, animal care), and a range of student-driven social action projects. We welcome applicants whose skills and interests can enrich this program and spark curiosity and engagement for our students.
The role is 0.2FTE with Friday a required workday, and flexibility for the second day.
You Will:
* Work as part of a teaching team in a co-teachiing capacity
* Lead and teach Physical Education for all students in primary and secondary (2 multi-age primary classes; and 2 multi-age secondary classes with support from class teachers)
* Deliver learning in Health for students in the Adolescent Program
* Work with adolescents in a small, multi-age learning community, focusing on support for community work and social action projects across disciplines
* Design and deliver learning that is personalised, project-based and authentic.
* Support students to develop independence, resilience, and responsibility as learners.
* Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to create integrated and meaningful learning experiences.
* Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive, and respectful school culture

About You:
* A registered teacher (or eligible for registration) with the TRBWA.
* Experienced in Physical education
* Experience working with adolescents
* Ability to deliver personalised learning.
* A reflective practitioner, open to collaboration and professional growth.
* Experience and/or training in Montessori and/or Big Picture is highly desirable. A willingness to undertake professional learning and training in these areas is essential and is a requirement for all permanent positions.
* A strong communicator who builds positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
