Role Purpose
The Registered Midwife is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care within a designated unit, functioning within policies and procedures of the Department of Health, SESLHD, RHW, and the Nursing and Midwifery Division. Clinical supervision at the point of care is a key responsibility, aligned with Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council frameworks.
Additional Information
Employment of temporary visa holders may occur only if no suitable Australian residents or citizens are available, following labour market testing. All new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually unless medically contraindicated, in which case alternative infection control measures apply.

Selection Criteria
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the National Nurses and Midwives Registration Board
* High-level communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to engage proactively with patients and guide service delivery
* Teamwork skills and professional boundaries management
* Strong computer skills and familiarity with health information systems
* Knowledge of risk management, safety, and quality principles
* Commitment to NSW Health Breastfeeding Policy and BFHI Principles
* Minimum 1 year postgraduate experience in women’s health, surgical, midwifery, neonatal, or paediatric settings, aligned with RN or RM AHPRA registration
