About the Role
Business Development / Sales Representative - Building Industry Specialist. Plyco is a leader in premium plywood, decorative laminates, melamine panels, and specialty board products. We supply high-quality materials to builders, cabinetmakers, joiners, shopfitters, and architects across Melbourne and Victoria with fast turnaround and expert advice.
Your Key Responsibilities
You'll spend your days making outbound calls to new prospects (builders, cabinetmakers, shopfitters, renovators, and commercial contractors), uncovering project opportunities and generating qualified leads. You'll build relationships, follow up, and close deals. You'll manage your pipeline to hit and exceed sales targets.
The Opportunity
This is a true hunter role perfect for an experienced tradie or builder who's ready to transition into a rewarding sales career. No hard physical work - just using your industry knowledge to solve customer problems and win business from the office (with occasional site/customer visits if you want them).
About You
* You're a former builder, chippy, cabinetmaker, or similar tradesperson who knows the building industry inside out, materials, suppliers, timelines, and pain points.
* You're tired of early starts, heavy lifting, and working in the weather.
* You love talking to people and have natural relationship-building skills.
* You have a confident phone manner and aren't afraid of cold calling.
* You're reliable, organised, and driven to succeed.
