Business Development Manager / Fashion Buyer
Location: Redfern, Sydney (Hybrid)
The DOM is Australia's first elevated online fashion outlet, built to disrupt the traditional outlet market. We're redefining off‑price shopping for the next generation, partnering with brands like Adidas, Jo Mercer, St Agni, and Neuw Denim to deliver premium fashion—always on sale.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a high‑impact role focused on identifying, securing, and growing brand partnerships across multiple operating models. You will own the full business development cycle from outreach through onboarding, supported by an Account Manager to deliver on execution.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the acquisition of new brands across our Marketplace and Marketplace+ models.
* Drive conversion of existing Marketplace brands into Marketplace+.
* Secure strategic wholesale buys where appropriate.
* Act as the primary commercial contact for your brand portfolio.
* Build trust‑based relationships and deliver tailored growth strategies for each partner.
* Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
* Use performance data to inform product mix, promotional cadence, and merchandising plans.
* Identify new category opportunities and market gaps aligned with customer demand.
* Champion and refine our evolving operating models, including Marketplace, Marketplace+, Wholesale, and Drop‑ship.
* Collaborate with Trade, Marketing, and Ecomm to deliver joint business plans.
* Provide strategic input into assortment planning and content priorities.
* Represent the voice of the brand within The DOM.
ABOUT YOU
You're a commercially driven relationship builder with strong industry credibility and a passion for fashion and retail innovation. You thrive in fast‑moving, high‑autonomy environments and bring a founder's mentality to growth.
What you bring
* 5+ years' experience in fashion buying, brand partnerships, or business development—ideally in a multi‑brand, ecommerce or marketplace environment.
* Proven ability to identify, secure, and scale partnerships.
* Deep understanding of commercial models (Marketplace, Wholesale, Drop‑ship).
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
* A highly collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset.
* Strong fashion industry network (preferred).
* Data‑driven approach with high commercial acumen.
