Overview
Our Team is currently seeking a strong Data Center Technician to support both company‐specific servers as well as data center buildouts at customer data centers. The ideal candidate balances strong technical hardware, physical network set‐up, and verbal/written communication skills, is highly analytical with superior attention‐to‐detail, self‐motivated, and possesses a positive, humble results‐driven attitude. This person will serve as a mentor and trainer to other Service technicians in the field. Technicians are also expected to provide feedback, create documentation on both technical and non‐technical processes, and contribute to our knowledge library that can be leveraged by others, for example KB Articles, SOP, lessons learned, etc. Additionally, the Tech will be both internal and external facing with the ability to lead and drive initiatives as assigned to a conclusion.
What you'll do
We are looking for someone with a strong focus on logistical duties. Ideally, a candidate will be adept in both hardware troubleshooting, physical network setup, and communication skills. However, a candidate strong in one field will be considered if the individual has the aptitude and skills to become an expert in multiple areas.
The Datacenter technician role is in charge of keeping the services up and running in the field. They need to stay on top of daily open tickets and actively work on resolving them. This involves troubleshooting problems, running validation tests, and replacing physical hardware if needed.
* Maintain SLA of 14 Days
Ensure a 14‐day SLA is consistently maintained. Each technician is accountable for overseeing the DC SLA matrix in their specific location.
The data center technicians are responsible for daily monitoring of the deployment schedule. The team lead assigns deployments to individual techs, who then take on the responsibility of reporting on and completing the deployments according to instructions.
Every day, there is a scheduled stand‐up meeting with the team. We expect that each team member makes themselves available to attend this meeting on a daily basis. The primary expectation is that technicians provide daily updates on the tasks assigned to them.
Each technician is responsible for managing their own assets in the Sharepoint asset tracker.
Each technician is responsible for updating and maintaining accurate records in the ServiceNow portal, which includes managing stockroom and physical inventory. Every movement of parts necessitates an action in ServiceNow. While inventory coordinators may assist in some locations, technicians are ultimately responsible for their own parts used or assigned parts.
Each technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized 5S Colo location.
