The Role
Bega’s Koroit site manufactures a range of dairy products including skimmed and full cream milk powders, buttermilk powders, milk protein concentrate, lactoferrin powder, retail milk powders, anhydrous milk fat, liquid cream and butter. The site produces a staggering 35 tonnes of lactoferrin extract annually. Lactoferrin is a naturally occurring iron building protein found in milk, and it is regarded for its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Our Manufacturing team are looking for a new Unit Supervisor to join the dryer team producing a range of milk powders. The incumbent will provide leadership for a team of operators while meeting all documented product specifications and associated cost profiles. Experience in Manufacturing and leading a team are key!
This role works on site Monday to Friday during standard operating hours.
Responsibilities
* Lead the team to ensure our products are produced safely, in full and on time
* Develop monthly and annual production plans to ensure performance is met
* Use problem-solving techniques to resolve non-conformance and other related issues
* Actively seek continuous improvement opportunities and translate to action
* Ensure compliance to food safety, environmental and good manufacturing practices are followed
* Support the sites annual operation plans and communicate to teams to ensure cascading of information
About you
* Previous experience in managing a team of people
* Strong People focus, leadership and the desire to build strong “teamwork”
* Strong verbal & written communication & customer service skills
* Ability to build and support a positive Safety and Wellbeing Culture
* Sound knowledge of computer systems (M3/EXCEL/TEAMs)
