Department Manager – Alice Springs

About the role
As Department Manager at Bunnings, you will be responsible for the ongoing daily operations, sales and high‑volume stock management within your specialist area. You will work closely with fellow Department Managers in Service, Inside the Home, Builders and Lifestyles & Garden whilst reporting directly to your Operations and Complex Manager. Your team of 20+ will be efficient, organized and the go‑to for our fantastic customers. You will help drive Service and Operations by training and developing your team, providing the Best Experience to customers, and ensuring the department showcases our Widest Range and Best Prices.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of 20+ to maintain an engaged and safe work environment and perform duty manager responsibilities, including opening and closing the store across weekdays and weekends.
* Build team capability on Best Experience and Safety Culture & Compliance, including team engagement, performance management and recognition.
* Rostering and strategic planning for your team to deliver on our service promise, driving department sales through strong merchandising and monitoring key metrics.
* Action customer feedback to improve the end‑to‑end customer experience.
* Own department stock accuracy including adjustments, replenishment discipline and loss prevention processes.
* Manage a minimum of one in‑three weekend roster and occasional public holiday work.
Qualifications
* Previous experience leading teams with a focus on Safety and Wellbeing and Specialist products.
* Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to develop teams and provide a healthy work environment.
* Ability to prioritise tasks & meet deadlines in a fast environment.
* Genuine passion for customer experience, confident interaction with customers and teams, and acting with integrity and safety.
* Knowledge of KPI’s and ability to exceed customer expectations.
