Overview
Applications are open for Clinical Midwives to join Armadale Health Service and become part of the team at one of our most inclusive hospitals within East Metropolitan Health Services (EMHS). The role provides an opportunity to practice women centred care within the scope of practice for a Registered Midwife. Armadale Health Service offers a community focussed model of maternity care that provides collaborative and integrative services to address the needs of the women and their families.
Our Clinical Midwives work across a range of both ambulatory and non-ambulatory services, providing advanced knowledge, clinical support, leadership and supervision across our Midwifery Antenatal Clinics, Antenatal Assessment Unit (AAU), Birthing Suite and the Postnatal ward. Armadale Health Service can also offer Clinical Midwives to work in the Midwifery Antenatal and Postnatal service (MAPS) and Midwifery Group Practice including the award winning Boodjari Yorgas service supporting Aboriginal maternal health and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
* Provide care within the scope of practice for a Registered Midwife across ambulatory and non-ambulatory services.
* Offer advanced knowledge, clinical support, leadership and supervision in areas including Antenatal Clinics, AAU, Birthing Suite and Postnatal ward.
* Contribute to collaborative and integrative maternity care models and support Aboriginal maternal health and wellbeing as part of MAPS and Midwifery Group Practice where applicable.
* Participate in a team that embraces diversity and strives to deliver high standards of care in the community.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife, or eligibility to apply.
* Current or eligible to work in Australia; Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for permanent positions in the public sector. For fixed term appointments, documentary evidence of entitlement to live and work in Australia is required.

* The recruitment pool will be open for 12 months. The panel will monitor applications throughout this timeframe and may make appointments when similar vacancies occur within any EMHS facility.
* Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/08/2026.
