Primary objective
The Clinical Technician is responsible for providing technical support to clinicians and clients at Royal Darwin and Palmerston
Hospital. The role involves performing various technical duties under the direction of the Neurology team.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Under the direction of the clinical team, perform EEG for both outpatient and inpatients within RDH.
2. Manage and organize patient records, including filing, storing and archiving EEG data securely using multiple modes.
3. Apply knowledge, skills, attributes and abilities within a defined practice area in therapeutic and professional relationships

with individuals, as well as with families, groups and communities.
4. Collaborate with neurologists and other healthcare professionals to provide technical support.
5. Work in partnership with system supplier to manage trouble shooting and maintenance issues.
6. Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being

undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated relevant experience in a field of technical work closely related to the duties of the vacancy.
2. Demonstrated understanding of multicultural differences and the impacts on health outcomes.
3. Well-developed communication, interpersonal skills, negotiation and conflict management skills, with experience working

in a team environment to achieve positive health outcomes.
4. Proven ability to work under direction and instruction to assist health professionals provide high quality services.
5. Proven ability to think laterally and problem solve independently with initiative and demonstrated organisational and

time management skills.
6. High level of personal integrity, confidentiality, adaptability and the ability to interact with diverse cultures.

Desirable
1. Certificate in EEG (Electroencephalography) or similar.
2. Working experience with clients and consumers within a health, aged care or disability setting.

The preferred or recommended applicant will be required to hold a current working with children clearance notice and
undergo a criminal history check. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is relevant to
the position. This role carries specific immunisation requirements. For immunisation requirements - Category A (direct
