Role Overview

The Physical Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible for providing on‐demand, incident‐driven physical hardware support for Oracle infrastructure environments. This role supports hardware failure incidents, initiating engagement as required to perform essential physical remediation activities using customer provided spare parts.

Key Objectives
* Ensure timely restoration of service during physical hardware failure incidents
* Provide reliable, certified Oracle hardware support capability on demand
* Minimise risk and downtime by enabling rapid physical component replacement
* Support continuity of operations without maintaining standing engineering capacity
Key Responsibilities Physical Hardware Support
* Perform basic physical infrastructure activities, including but not limited to:
* Component swaps (e.g., memory, power supply units, adapters, cables)
* Removal and installation of hardware components using customer‐provided spares
* Execute all physical tasks strictly in accordance with:
* Oracle hardware standards
* Approved operating procedures
* Site access, safety, and compliance requirements
* Provide ad‐hoc, call‐out based support for hardware failure incidents impacting Oracle clusters
* Participate in incident bridge calls as required to: align with remote platform, infrastructure, and vendor teams; provide on‐site execution aligned to incident resolution plans; support rapid recovery by completing physical remediation activities within agreed response expectations
Coordination & Communication
* Work closely with remote infrastructure and platform teams, incident and problem management teams, and vendor or OEM support (as applicable)
* Ensure clear communication before, during, and after physical interventions
Documentation & Compliance
* Document all hardware activities, including components replaced, serial numbers (where applicable), actions performed and outcomes
* Ensure activities are aligned to established change, incident, and asset management processes
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in enterprise infrastructure hardware support, preferably within datacenter environments
* Oracle‐certified hardware capability (or equivalent vendor‐recognized certification), available to be leveraged as required
* Hands‐on experience with enterprise server and storage hardware, disk and component replacement procedures, and incident‐based operational support
