Job Description

Your Role

As a Counsellor in the Supporting Adolescent Boys Program, you'll provide therapeutic support to young men and boys affected by family and domestic violence. Your role focuses on recovery and healing, while also working to prevent the use of future violence. Through evidence-based therapeutic interventions and collaborative practice, your work will contribute to reducing risk, supporting recovery, and strengthening families and communities.

Key Accountabilities

Conduct comprehensive client assessments, including risk of violence and family/community dynamics

Develop and deliver tailored therapeutic treatment plans

Provide individual counselling using trauma-informed, evidence-based practices

Engage and coordinate with other professionals to support continuity of care

Collect and report high-quality participant data, including insights from families and carers where appropriate

Contribute to continuous clinical improvement by applying current research and best practice

Role model organisational values and contribute positively to a supportive team environment

Maintain safe, ethical, and professional practice in line with legal and organisational standards

Desired Skills and Experience

What you'll bring

- Minimum Diploma in Counselling.
- Demonstrated experience in community service sector with knowledge of FDSV
- Experience in the delivery of individualised therapeutic approaches
- Demonstrated experience of working with a vast network of services to ensure clear pathways to care and referral processes are maintained
- Demonstrated experience in working with young people to meet the goals of case plans, the young person's needs and risk assessments.
- Ability to travel as part of the job.

Eligibility/other requirements

- Successful completion of a National Crime Check.
- Successful completion of an NSW Working with Children Check.
- Valid NSW Driver's Licence.
