TheOpportunity Weare looking for a motivated Plant Operator to join ourInfrastructure Team in Kununurra to assist in delivering the Shireworks program and maintenance of roads and drainage and other worksin the Kununurra site and surrounds. The role will also assist inliasing with operational team members as required (i.e. Kununurraoperations staff) from time to time upon request by linemanagement. Your responsibilities will include:
* Work asa team member to undertake duties relating to maintenance andconstruction projects that enhance or modify Shire roads,drainage and traffic infrastructure, parks, sportingfacilities, public open spaces, reserves, streets, ablutionsand Shire facilities
* Operateplant and equipment in a safe and competent manner as per theShire of Wyndham East Kimberley guidelines andtraining
* Ensuredaily pre-operational checks and prescribed plant/machinerymaintenance are carried out fully and all faults or defects arereported
* Maximising theefficiency of the plant and machinery on all tasks
* Interpreting plans anddrawings of road and drainage maintenance andconstruction
* Attending andparticipating in team meetings, inductions and training andfollowing organisational specific procedures and processeswhen/where required
* Utilising initiative tosolve routine problems and determine ways to improve efficiencyand performance
Relevant qualificationsinclude Certificate III in Civil Construction or Machineryoperation, Traffic Controller certificate, current plantoperator's certificate/s, current Blue/ White ConstructionSafety Card (or ability to obtain), current unrestricted WA Manual"MR' or "HR" Class Driver's Licence(or ability to obtain) and current National Police Clearance(within the last 6 months) are essential for this role.
You will also need abilityto safely operate heavy plant – including Trucks, Backhoe,Skid Steer Loaders, Slashers, Bobcats and Excavator, experience andknowledge of roads and drainage maintenance with sealed andunsealed roads, ability to interpret drawings and plans,w orkingknowledge of Road Reserve maintenance, ability to work with minimalsupervision and prioritise tasks with completion in a timelymanner, and good customer service skills with a high level serviceto members of the public.
