About The Team & The Position
As the nation's energy market operator, we take our cyber security responsibilities very seriously. AEMO is a recognised leader and exemplar of effective cyber security within the energy sector domestically and internationally.
The Energy Markets Cyber Coordination (EMCC) team is responsible under the electricity rules for performing several cyber security functions to enhance the overall cyber security preparedness of the grids and markets AEMO operates.
As the Project Coordinator, you will be instrumental in supporting the EMCC Ways of Working (EWoW), coordinating logistics for stakeholder meetings, supporting operational efficiency and maintaining up-to-date tools such as Jira & Confluence. You will also support procurement processes, AEMO's internal and external facing cyber exercises. You will apply your knowledge and experience in cyber security and project management to be a conjure between projects and wider cyber department and digital domain.
Position Responsibilities
* Assist with tracking and updating workload requests, schedules, milestones, and key tasks across the EMCC streams.
* Manage and maintain Jira boards and Confluence spaces, ensuring timely updates to monthly/quarterly cycles, actions, issues, and documentation
* Organise and support internal and external meetings, forums, and workshops, including scheduling, logistics, materials preparation, and post-meeting action tracking.
* Define, execute and maintain document version control, risk and issue registers, and documentation in accordance with AEMO/EMCC governance requirements.
* Review new project proposals, monitor the workload pipeline and report on the status of ongoing delivery workload.
* Document and track risks that can affect project quality, scope, time and budget, in accordance with the project plan and AEMO corporate KPIs
* Raise and track purchase orders (POs), process invoices, and manage procurement workflows using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) enterprise finance system
* Document problems and issues; manage resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned while collecting and disseminating relevant information.
Position Requirements
Skills & Experience:
* Strong Experience in a project coordination, administrative, or PMO support role, ideally within cybersecurity, energy, or a regulated industry
* Must have - Procurement and project management; financial/budget management, scheduling and resource management skills.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in tracking activities across multiple workstreams.
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar enterprise systems for raising POs and processing invoices.
* Experience supporting teams using tools such as SharePoint and the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence
* Excellent written and verbal communication, especially for documenting meetings, reporting, and liaising with stakeholders.
* Familiar with the energy sector, critical infrastructure, or government-related cybersecurity programs.
* Preferred - Knowledge of security control and maturity frameworks relevant to the energy sector. Ability to travel interstate and work flexible hours.
Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.
Education/ Professional Certifications
* Tertiary qualifications in computer science, business administration, project management and/or technology related fields or equivalent industry experience.
* Desirable - Foundation level Project t management certifications, for example CAPM, AIM CERT IV or Agile PM
