The Role
The ABC is looking for a Reporter to create and present original high-impact stories that set the news agenda for 7.30 the ABCs flagship nightly current affairs program.
This role is a split role filing for both 7.30 and for the Tasmanian newsroom. Working closely with the Supervising Producers 7.30 the role will also report to Editor TAS News filing for the newsroom one week per month.
The Job
* Research, write and present accurate engaging news and current affairs content.
* Produce impactful long-form stories that reflect Australia's diversity.
* Source material, conduct interviews and deliver stories quickly and clearly.
* Create high-quality content across multiple platforms.
* Stay informed on national issues and build key community relationships.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop stories relevant to all Australians.
About You
* Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
* Strong research storytelling and editorial judgment.
* Skilled in long-form reporting and digital journalism.
* Excellent presentation and production abilities.
* Organised collaborative and able to work independently.
* Broad understanding of Australian issues and diverse communities.
* Passion for stories that reflect Australia's diversity.
