Job Roles and Responsibilities
As a Dispensary Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate dispensing of medications within our community pharmacy. Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Receiving and processing prescriptions from customers and healthcare professionals in a timely and accurate manner.
* Preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, adhering to strict quality control measures and regulatory guidelines.
* Maintaining accurate patient records and inventory management systems, ensuring proper stock levels and tracking controlled substances.
* Providing exceptional customer service by answering inquiries, resolving concerns, and promoting patient education and medication adherence.
* Collaborating closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
* Performing administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
Required Qualifications and Skills
* Completion of a recognised Dispensary Technician course or equivalent qualification is essential.
* Demonstrable knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, abbreviations, and dosage calculations.
* Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
