About the Role
As our Commerce Planner, you will help shape connected channel strategies that bring together creative, strategic, media and commercial thinking. This role sits at the heart of how brands show up across retail, retail media, eCommerce, experiential and the full commerce ecosystem, helping ensure our planning is insight-led, channel-aware and grounded in real shopper behaviour and retail reality.
This role supports four core areas: storytelling, channel planning, creative optimisation, and industry knowledge building. You will champion the development of omnichannel plans, help craft clear strategic responses, and support the creation of ideas and messaging that are tailored to the retailer, audience and shopper environment.
This role combines the autonomy to work independently balanced with strong mentorship from the senior team to support your growth and development. This will require strong communication skills, curiosity, initiative and a collaborative mindset. You'll work closely with clients, client services, strategy, creative, media and eCommerce specialists to deliver strategy that is commercially relevant, creatively effective and aligned to client objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development of shopper and category insights for clients by carrying out competitor research, running retail visits, leading shopper interviews, and conducting desk research.
* Develop strategic responses, presentations and planning frameworks that connect brand objectives with practical retailer and channel opportunities.
* Develop clear briefs and strategic frameworks that provide a strong foundation for creative ideation, campaign development, channel strategy and execution.
* Collaborate with creative teams to ensure all key messages and creative ideas are optimised to the channel, audience and shopper.
* Present strategy decks to internal and external audiences, including clients.
* Workshop proactive ideas to improve how brands show up in store, at shelf and across the full omnichannel shopper journey.
* Stay up to date with innovation in retail, eCommerce and retail media, and contribute to knowledge sharing and proactive idea development.
* Build productive relationships across internal teams and contribute positively to a collaborative planning culture.
* Support strong project hygiene by maintaining accurate documentation.
Skills Required
* A minimum of 2 years' commercial experience ideally in account management, strategy or marketing in an FMCG or retail context.
* Knowledge of the retail, grocery and/ or pharmacy channel will be highly regarded.
* Curious and flexible thinker, with the ability to apply yourself to a variety of projects and challenges.
* The ability to be self-directed and work autonomously when required.
* Strong interpersonal skills to support teamwork and collaboration.
* Detail orientated and organised with the skills to develop well-structured presentations.
* Hungry to learn, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
