As our In Home Support Worker, you'll walk alongside families, offering practical help that strengthens homes and builds confidence in parenting. This is your chance to be part of a service that keeps children safe, supported, and connected to culture.
About the role:
This role is hands-on, meaningful, and varied. Each day you'll visit families in their homes, offering practical support in ways that are safe, respectful, and shaped by culture. You might be helping a parent set up routines for their children, working through budgeting and household tasks, or linking families to schools, health providers, and community resources.
You'll support parents and caregivers through reunification processes, while keeping careful and respectful records of your work. Just as importantly, you'll bring patience, empathy, and encouragement — helping families build the skills and confidence they need to care for their children.
About you:
You're the kind of person who shows up with care. Maybe you've raised children, supported your community, or worked in roles where you've helped people through tough times. However you've gained your experience, you know the strength that comes from culture, connection, and lived experience.
You're respectful, reliable, and able to build trust with people quickly. You bring practical knowledge of family life — parenting, routines, relationships, or household management — and you're committed to keeping children safe and supported.
You don't need to have a degree to succeed here — what matters most is your heart, your commitment, and your willingness to walk alongside families.
These positions are offered as 1.0 FTE and 0.6 FTE, Level 4 of the SCHADS Award. You'll join NTP on a maximum term contract of up to 5 years, providing job security that aligns with our government funding agreement. This contract structure complies with the Fair Work Act fixed term contract requirements and ensures stability for both our team and the families we support.
