Roster: 8 Days On / 6 Days Off – FIFO from Perth Fortescue has an exciting opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer to join our Christmas Creek operations.
Working alongside a team of Process Control Engineers, you will support and enhance control systems across two ore processing facilities and stockyard operations, driving safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Proactively identify and mitigate control system risks through safe and robust engineering solutions Provide operational and breakdown support, including fault finding and troubleshooting of control systems Design, develop, test, and modify control systems to optimise plant performance and reliability Analyse plant equipment and processes to identify and implement improvement opportunities Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams to deliver technical solutions Lead or support control system improvement, optimisation, and defect elimination initiatives Maintain control system assets including PLCs, SCADA, servers, networks, and field devices Maintain documentation, standards, change management, and contribute to maintenance KPI outcomes Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline At least 3 years' experience as a Control Systems / Process Control Engineer in mining or fixed plant environments Strong experience in control system development, commissioning, and operational support Working knowledge of mineral processing equipment and operations Experience with PLC and SCADA platforms including GE, Siemens, and Allen Bradley systems Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Profibus/Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and EGD Strong understanding of IEC ******* PLC programming languages and data structures Experience with instrumentation, ELV systems, and process control optimisation About Us Be part of something big.
