The purpose of the position is to improve the Oral Health of the community through the delivery of quality dental treatment and support services. The position is responsible for working together with our dentists to provide routine oral health care for children and adults, and also help to promote oral health and preventive dental practices amongst the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Within this role you may be required to work across various locations including Ipswich and Redlands region.**Day to day duties will involve:*** Provide routine oral health care for clients including mixture of therapy and hygiene.* Practice routine adult therapy within your scope of practice* Identify complex dental problems and raise concerns with dentists* Liaise with other healthcare providers to support oral health as part of general health* Promote oral health and preventive dental practices among clients (including children and adults in the local and broader community)* Accurately document client files with treatment and medication information* Perform administration duties as required within both a clinical environment and office environment* Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)* Current AHPRA Registration* Bachelor of Oral Health (or similar qualification)* Current First Aid and CPR Certificates* Demonstrated oral health therapy experience in a dental practice that demonstrates your practical skills and knowledge* Minimum two to three years post qualification experience working in a similar organisation working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients (children, adults and elders)* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within a health related context with a clear understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture protocols and health policies**Desirable, but not mandatory:*** Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities*At IUIH we recognise that we operate in a diverse community and welcome and encourage applications from all ages and genders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, the LGBTIQ+ community, veterans, refugees and people with disability.** At IUIH 'Our Collectivity is Our Strength'.* We are a diverse and inclusive workplace that invites applications from all people.* Be part of Australia's largest community controlled Aboriginal Health Service.* Access to "Growing Our Own Opportunities" through in-house training and programs.#J-18808-Ljbffr
