Overview
Senior Medical Officer, Paediatric Emergency Medicine role at Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service. You will provide high level specialist paediatric emergency clinical services within a tertiary setting, to ensure the provision of high quality, safe and family centred care within CHQ HHS.
Responsibilities
* The provision of high quality, and reliable clinical care at specialist level to children and families presenting to the Emergency Department. This involves direct patient care, supervision of junior medical staff, and liaison with other units within and outside of CHQ. In order to provide extended hours SMO cover, the SMO role includes clinical shifts on evenings, weekends, and provision of on-call support overnight.
* Role modelling professionalism with respect to confidentiality, patient dignity, effective communication with patients, families and staff, and the completion of accurate and comprehensive medical records including discharge summaries.
* Active promotion and modelling of family centred care principles and practices in the delivery of services. Involve consumers wherever possible in design and evaluation of services. Engage in early identification and resolution of patient/family and staff complaints using open disclosure principles.
