We are seeking a motivated Painter Blaster Trade Assistant to support our crew of experts who specialise in radiators and heat exchangers for some of the biggest names in mining.
What's the role?
Located in Paget and reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you'll form part of our Paint & Blast team and be responsible for:
* Preparing radiators and cooling components for painting, including setup of work areas and equipment
* Sanding and sandblasting components
* Assisting Painter Blasters with coating application and general workshop tasks
* Mixing materials and applying coatings as directed
* Cleaning and maintaining painting and blasting equipment
* Photographing components and completing job documentation
* Preparing finished components for dispatch, including packaging and tagging
* Conducting preliminary quality inspections and completing checklists
* Ensuring all work complies with safety and quality standards
Our Mackay workshop team operate from 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday to Thursday, and 6:00am - 12:30pm on Friday.
About You:
You'll be a great fit if you:
* Have experience with sandblasting, painting, or surface preparation
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to health & safety
* Can follow instructions and standard operating procedures
* Are well organised, punctual and reliable
* Have good written and verbal communication
* Are physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
* Previous experience in industrial painting, blasting or working on heavy equipment will be highly regarded
