Support Worker – Mt Isa
Classification: SCHADS 3
Status: Casual
Step into a role where every shift makes a genuine difference. As a Support Worker with us, you’ll be part of a team that empowers people on their recovery journey, offering safety, structure, and compassionate support in line with TSA’s participant‑led model of care.
About The Role
You’ll be the welcoming face and steady support for participants accessing our service. Your work will help create a safe, respectful, and recovery‑focused environment where individuals feel heard, supported, and encouraged to take the next steps in their journey.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Provide warm, responsive first contact and ensure urgent needs are addressed promptlyWork with senior staff to identify and prevent potential high‑risk situationsFacilitate daily programs and activities, including social sessions, Spirit Lifter, and information groupsOffer information and guidance to help participants navigate their needs and circumstancesBuild strong, trust‑based relationships that promote self‑determination and active participationSupport participants to implement their case plans in line with TSA’s model of careEncourage engagement in recovery goals and connect participants with relevant support servicesContribute to activity risk assessments and communicate mitigation strategies to management
What You’ll Bring
A relevant certificate qualification, or:Previous industry experience and/or on‑the‑job training, orA diploma‑level qualificationCurrent First Aid CertificateCurrent driver’s licenceBlue Card (Working with Children Check) – required for Townsville & Mt Isa roles
