A leading managed services provider is seeking a highly skilled
VMware Systems & Datacenter Engineer

About the Role This position blends traditional system administration with hands‑on datacenter engineering and advanced VMware virtualisation. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimising both physical and virtual infrastructure across enterprise‑grade environments.
In addition to core responsibilities, you’ll also support broader internal initiatives— including assisting with project deployments, workstation fleet rollouts, and configuring devices or network equipment when required.

Key Responsibilities Systems Administration
Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments
Perform patching, updates, tuning, and security hardening
Automate recurring tasks using PowerShell
Monitor backups, disaster recovery, and system health using VMware and supporting tools
Manage identity and access controls (Active Directory / LDAP)
Datacenter Operations
Deploy, configure, and maintain physical servers, storage, and network hardware
Perform racking/stacking, cabling, power distribution, and ongoing hardware maintenance
Maintain detailed asset and configuration documentation
VMware & Virtualisation
Build and maintain VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi environments
Manage VM lifecycle tasks—provisioning, templates, snapshots, vMotion
Configure virtual networking (vSwitches, VLANs) and storage (vSAN, iSCSI, NFS)
Support HA/DR infrastructure and performance optimisation
Collaborate with network, DevOps, and security teams to ensure integrated operations
