About the Opportunity
Provide expert forensic document examination services, lead team operations, maintain quality standards, and contribute to research and innovation. Ensure compliance with legislative requirements while fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.
About the Business
* Forensic Science SA (FSSA) provides a comprehensive, coordinated range of services to agencies associated with the justice system including the State Coroner, South Australia Police (SAPOL), the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and defence and civil litigants.
* We are part of the Attorney General's Department and the Director, FSSA reports to the Executive Director, Finance, People & Performance.
* Within FSSA there are four scientific/medico-legal operational areas: Pathology, Chemistry, Biology and Toxicology, each analysing materials using a diverse range of scientific equipment and processes.
* The operational areas are supported by Administration, Information Technology and Projects, Science Support and Quality, who each provide underpinning services in support of the operational areas.
Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Employment-related Screening Check required.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
