Child Health Specialist
This critical role is instrumental in enhancing health outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, focusing on the well-being of women and children aged 0-5 years.
About the Position:
* Deliver education and support to families with young children.
* Provide high-level clinical monitoring, identify developmental delays, and refer to relevant services.
* Administer childhood immunizations according to established protocols.
* Promote the integration of maternal and child health services, as well as family support initiatives.
* Implement targeted plans to address community priorities in children's health and development.
* Offer leadership and mentorship within the team.
* Ensure accurate and efficient clinical documentation and data management.
* Participate in quality improvement activities to optimize service delivery.
* Collaborate closely with Midwives and Paediatric Nurses to achieve optimal outcomes.
Key Requirements:
* A registered nurse with a minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience.
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Postgraduate qualification in Child Health, accompanied by relevant work experience.
* Nationally recognized certification in immunization practices.
* Valid Australian driver's license.
* Understanding of the key issues impacting the health of Aboriginal women and children.
